Choose Wisely

What frightens me most about Christianity today is the growing belief amongst us that we can be IN Christ and 'of the world' at the same time. "Be not conformed...but be ye transformed" Romans 12:2 "Old things have passed away, ALL things are new..." 2 Cor 5:17 "Put off the old man...put on the new" Ephesians 4:24 & John 17:6 "They are not of this world even as I am not of it..." And let us not forget 2 Peter 2:20-22 "If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. Of them the proverbs are true: "A dog returns to its vomit," and, "A sow that is washed returns to her wallowing in the mud." We are not saved because we live right, we live right because we are saved. The Spirit of God leads us and we follow Him into good works. He does not lead us into sin so if we are willingly making excuses to walk in sin we are not following Christ. We cannot have it both ways. God allows us to choose.
