Sometimes the real struggle for Christians is within themselves. A spirit comes to torment and say, "Aren't you supposed to be doing better than THIS by NOW? Maybe God ISN'T with you?" The Bible tells us about 2 voices that will whisper in our ears, one is a voice that we know and it comes by way of the door. The other sneaks in some other way and pretends to sound the same but is really our enemy. One is the voice of God, gentle and encouraging even in correction. The other is from Satan, accusing and discouraging, planting seeds of doubt. It is okay to not be strong or perfect all the time. Sometimes we go around each other acting, wearing masks, pretending to have things tied up in pretty little bows. But the truth is everyone has tough days, everyone struggles. The flesh rises up to wage war in all people at different times and so does our enemy. We hide from one another our weaknesses because we think if people see us weak then...it must mean that something is wrong with us or with our relationship with God. We think it makes us look like hypocrites, but that is the lie that the enemy whispers because even He knows that when we are weak God is strong and when God is strong we are about to step up!! Here is what Paul tells us about this at a time when he was struggling with a "messenger from satan". (2 Corinthians 12:8-10) "Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
Let me encourage you today to just be you and be genuine and be authentic with God and with others. If you are feeling low, turn to God and don't spend too much energy trying to hide it because when people see HIM pick you up, they will learn to turn to HIM as well and in having caused such as that through your weak moments you have become strong for the Kingdom of God. These are the mysterious ways in which God moves. You don't have to be perfect, just turn to Him and do the best you can, He will fill in where we cannot and not only will you be blessed but others will be as well.
